A full schedule of Rep. Elijah Cummings’ memorial events

The late Rep. Elijah Cummings is lying in repose at Morgan State University on Wednesday and will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday. He will be honored Friday with a wake and funeral service at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore.

Since his death last week, the Maryland Democrat has been remembered by both Republicans and Democrats as a leader in Congress who set an example for others.

Here is a schedule of the services.

Wednesday, Oct. 23

8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET: Cummings lies in repose at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Cummings served on the university’s board of regents for 19 years.

Thursday, Oct. 24

Cummings will lie in state in National Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol.

11 a.m. ET: Arrival ceremony followed by a memorial service, which will be open to members of Congress and the Cummings’ family and guests. The service includes a scripture reading from Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., music from the Morgan State Gospel Choir, and wreath presentations by leaders of the U.S. House and Senate. (WATCH)

Friday, Oct. 25

8 a.m. ET: Wake begins at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore.

10 a.m. ET: Funeral begins with Bishop Walter S. Thomas Jr. of Baltimore, Md. delivering the eulogy. (WATCH LIVE)

Others speakers include former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as Hillary Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
