Directions: Read the article here and answer the discussion questions. Summary :
  1. Have your students identify the 5Ws and an H:
    • Who is the story about?
    • What is important about Chadwick Boseman's passing?
    • When and where is this happening?
    • Why has Boseman's death touched so many?
    • How are people responding to his legacy?
Then have students share with the class or through a Learning Management System (LMS). 2. Focus question: Though based on fantasy, how might Black Panther and Wakanda be inspirational for children? 3. Media literacy: How is the comic strip format effective at portraying the emotional life of its subjects? Dig deeper: Read this Educator Voice post "Chadwick Boseman was a symbol of Black excellence and pride" by podcast host and youth leader Mekka Don and the memorial by two high school reporters here (or linked below). Take a look at this article , too: "Why ‘Black Panther’ and other comic books belong in the classroom," by teacher David Cutler.
