About the Show

Home Fires is a heartwarming period drama following a group of inspirational women in rural England with World War II looming. As two characters in particular struggle to put aside their differences in the local chapter of the Women’s Institute, the rural community learns to unite amidst the chaos and uncertainty of wartime. Based on historian Julie Summers’ factual book Jambusters, “the series is spoonful after spoonful of splendid jam,” says The Washington Post.

Samantha Bond (The Marlow Murder Club, Downton Abbey) and Francesca Annis (Flesh and Blood, Cranford) star in this story of courage and friendship. They are joined by Ruth Gemmell (Bridgerton), Claire Rushbrook (Magpie Murders), Clare Calbraith (Downton Abbey), Frances Grey (Vanity Fair), and Mark Bonnar (World on Fire, Guilt), among others.

You can stream Home Fires Seasons 1 and 2 when you watch with PBS Passport. MASTERPIECE has announced there are no plans for a Season 3.
