Texas storms kill at least 11 overnight

Cleanup and recovery efforts were underway in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, on Sunday after tornadoes and powerful storms ripped through the region overnight, killing at least 11 people.

Dozens were injured in a group of storms that swept through a 40-mile-long area around Dallas.

Powerful winds blasted roofs off homes, pulverized trees and power lines and hurled cars off the Interstate.

Sections of the Dallas suburbs are now under a 24-hour curfew as official assess the damage.

The tornadoes were the latest event in a string of severe weather across the U.S. in the past week that’s claimed over 30 lives.
